Looks like he (or she) used standard wooden “magic” shelves (where the mounts are imbedded inside the shelf itself), just mounted them crooked and added the red zig-zag pattern on the front. Modified=hacked.

I like how as you go up the shelves, there are newer systems: On the bottom is the NES, next is the SNES and above that an N64!
