Wow. Try actually coming to a country or looking up some photos of it before you make dumb comments regarding it next time.
Yes, we use a lot of Give Way (“Yield”) signs because that’s just the way our road culture works (got skills, so it’s considered alright to do slow-rolling checks), but we do still reserve a few absolute STOP signs for the most dangerous intersections.
And driving on the left is, like, one of the few things I’d expect our nation to be internationally known for.
i live in bristol (UK), where this sign is, infact it was me who uploaded this picture. it is in an area called Brislington. I passed the sign every day for 3 years going to college.
its a road sign, people who are walking in hte dark need to know where the sign is, as to know what the cars are and aren’t allowed to do on the junction
Also we have consideration for cyclists and others who may not have anything more powerful than legal-minimum position lights.
Used to be that a lot of our signs were transflective plastic and internally lit, but that must have been either a pain to manufacture / not very hard wearing / increased maintenance difficulty (changing bulb etc) and certainly not as reflective as normal ones when the bulb blew out, so they’re a dying breed.
(The metal ones with lamps STILL reflect – it’s an extra safety feature, rather than replacing the intrinsic one)
the sign is real, and was up for years. if you google map sandy park road, bristol, uk, and look at the sign at the top of the hill on the left, you will see the sign, but the hammertime sign has been removed. i used to go past it daily on my way to college, hence why i uploaded this pic. but yeah there are more signs online if you google it!
I can guarantee you that this sign was located in Brislington and not photoshopped, I myself have photos of this street sign, Bristol city council had the sign removed.
As for the comment saying that we dont have stop signs please understand that we do and that yes we do drive on the left side of the road as this is Britain.
Those who are claiming it is photoshopped – your claims of perspective fail would be valid if the sign was on a cubed pole, where both signs would have to be on the same plane. Since they are on a cylindrical pole, the signs could be on whatever plane at whatever angle the hanger of the signs wanted.
It’s real, my mum owns the salon just round the corner from here. Even better is the same dude put another one up on a stop sign on the adjoining road that said ‘in the name of love’.
I’ve seen a couple of these in real life, btw, but the stencil-spraypainted kind… I think that probably qualifies this even if its a photoshop, as there are at least real examples we can point to
I’ve seen someone do this, actually. It was on the RIT Campus in Rochester somehwere. My family couldn’t stop laughing when we saw it. I think they took it down, tho’….
LOVE IT!
Terrible photoshop.
Agreed, a clear one.
Note to photoshop “artist”: Perspective, it is your friend.
lol. XD
Total fake. British license plates, driving on the left side of the road…. and um, they don’t use stop signs there.
Nice try tho – apart from the lame photoshop.
we do have stop signs, this sign is down my road lol
Why is it fake if they have British licence plates and drive on the left side of the road? Thats what really happens over here.
The post looks like a 3D model with a rather odd texture.
Why on Earth do you think Brits don’t use stop signs?! Of course we do!

Yeah, now that I see what linfosoma said, it does look photo shopped.

Why a light? Your headlights are supposed to reflect off them.

‘Shopped or not, it was a good thing I didn’t take a sip of coffee before the page opened.
Here is where they got the idea:

Actually, I live right by this! It’s in Bristol, England. It’s not photoshopped!
it’s not faked!
My housemate tells me it is real. Its on a road in Bristol in England and he has walked past it many times. Just thought I’d clear it up.
I like how the alt-text gets chopped off at the apostrophe.
So you read the title, “U Can’t Touch This”, but then you hover over it… “U Can”
Thanks, EWF, I needed a little encouragement today
HTML injection fail!
Google Image it, there are real versions of this (or at last, better shopped ones). I prefer the “STOP -In the naaaaame of love” version.
Question do we really care that its photoshopped? Just sit back and enjoy the awesome win people!
Shopped, it’s a win. If someone did it for *real* though, that would be an EPIC win. Which is what the site is for.

I just like it. No questions asked. Ignorance is a bliss….

what intersection?
Yeah…… british car in britain….. we dont have stop sign over here, we have “give way” signs
i hope you haven’t passed your test yet then, because you’ll find that octagonal motherf*cker in the highway code bold as brass.
It’s real. It’s at the east end of Sandy Park Road.
There are lots of images on Google showing it; unfortunately it’s not on Google Street View, though. (yes, I looked; http://tinyurl.com/ykh6cnq )
I’ve seen a couple of these in real life, btw, but the stencil-spraypainted kind… I think that probably qualifies this even if its a photoshop, as there are at least real examples we can point to
i wish that sign was still there – it’s been taken down
went past today. used to make me smile every time.
forget the photoshop this is awesome!

BEST SIGN EVER.
