Actually, a Muppet is any character created by Jim Henson. Jim created both The Muppet Show and Sesame Street so Kawa is still correct.
The Count isn’t technically a Muppet but he and the rest of the Sesame Street characters were created by Jim Hensen. So he’s a Muppet cousin.
I think they still count as Muppets even though they weren’t regularly on the Muppet Show or in the Muppet movies. But SS did make it into a Muppet movie. Wasn’t it Muppets Take Manhattan?
